Research Program Manager

Job Description:

Centre for Hybrid Automotive Research and Green Energy (CHARGE) Lab at the University of Windsor, Windsor, ON, Canada invites applications to fill an open research program manager (PM) position. The PM will manage a Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program and multiple industry supported research and development (R&D) projects and teams to ensure the program’s multidisciplinary goals are reached. The research PM will work closely with industry, academic and government partners, and cross-disciplinary teams of students, researchers and professors to plan and develop scopes, deliverables, required resources, work plans, budget, etc. The PM will manage project budgets and communicate with the University Research Finance Department as well. In addition, the PM will also be responsible to purchase equipment, materials and supplies, enforce and ensure confidentiality among projects, assist with grant applications and proposal preparation, prepare mid-year, annual and final project and financial and annual program reports and develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify potential areas for improvement. 

Qualifications:

  • An M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in science or engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of working independently and in a team.
  • Prior industry project management experience will be an asset.
  • Master’s degree in business administration will be an asset.
